It will take some convincing to persuade you that our traditional Heritage frames (also known as Residence or R9) do not use timber, but we swear whole-heartedly that they don’t. Up close or viewed from a distance, you will struggle to find any obvious difference in how they look as they have the same style, dimensions and quality of finish. We have even managed to make the window sash sit flush with the window frame when the window is closed, which is what you would expect to see with a 19th Century timber window. The way a set of bi-folding doors glide along the rolling mechanism will make you instantly fall for them, and how could you not be totally transfixed by their stunning aesthetics? You can lose a little bit of natural light from a conservatory upon the installation of a tiled roof, but don’t dismiss it based on that. It has a beautiful external and internal appearance, and to compensate for that loss of light we mentioned, you can always have roof windows or integrated spotlights placed into the roof. This will keep the extension well illuminated at night time and allow you to use the space deep into the early hours. Back in the 19th Century, timber windows were traditionally painted, but their painted finish would rarely last long. So, what we’ve done is develop a suite of timber alternative windows that you can finish in a range of Heritage colours, including Painswick, Clotted Cream and Cotswold Biscuit. They’re not painted on, and they therefore won’t disappear over time. Other Heritage colours we have in stock include Corse Lawn, Eclectic Grey and English, Irish and Silvered Oak.
