The installation of the UltraRoof 380 is well worth the money if you want to be guaranteed of comfortable extended living for the foreseeable future. Conditions outside should have absolutely no bearing on how the space feels inside, but you will often feel the weather when your old conservatory has a traditional polycarbonate roof.

A glass conservatory roof is a better option, but not quite up to the standard of an UltraRoof. Heat will be far less capable of shifting in and out of the room, and the U-value of the UltraRoof is unbelievably low (0.16 W/m²K). The UltraRoof 380 is made up of polymer slates that have an identical look to traditional slates, even possessing the same kind of natural peaks and plateaux’s. Only requiring the minimum of maintenance, we can fit the polymer slates very quickly, up to 12 slates at a time, and they are available in three distinct colours: carbon grey, terra brick (red), and harvest brown.

Two types of ridge cap are also available: an ‘armadillo’ style ridge cap which greatly complements the appearance of polymer slates, and a smooth aluminium ridge cap for those that seek an ultra-fashionable look. You are advised to choose a colour for the slates that matches the coloured slates you have on the roof of your house, or one that suits the glass you include in the UltraRoof, whether that is our bronze, aqua or blue tinted glass. Each of these glazing options offers quality light transmission and solar heat reflection.

To remind you, it is possible to add glazed sections to the UltraRoof 380, and we have a superb range of performance glasses you can use to control heat transference and promote thermal efficiency. Prior to picking a glazed solution, consider the four following things first, and then you’ll be in a good position to make a decision:

Tint – Our glass options are fully transparent, but if you have a closer look at them, you will notice a very slight tint in the glass. The tint is present for the purpose of generating a comforting ambience inside the conservatory.

U-Value – A U-value is a measurement of internal heat loss. The lower the U-value, the greater the insulation offered.

Solar Heat Reflection – This informs you of the total percentage of solar energy that’s blocked from moving through the glass into a room.

Light Transmission – This informs you of the total percentage of visible light direct transmitted through the glass.
